Different Types Of Houston Shutters
You may be thinking of adding Houston shutters to
your home for a couple of reasons. One of those may
be to add visual appeal and color to your home. The
other reason could be to provide privacy or protect
your home from natural elements such as sun or storm
damage. They are available in a variety of styles
and materials to suit your needs.
Materials
They are available in plastic, vinyl, wood, or
various prefabricated materials. The primary
determining factors in selecting your material is
the lifespan of it and the cost. Vinyl is the most
cost effective material. It also tends to dent,
fade, or crack more easily and cannot be repainted
or repaired once this happens. Plastic and
prefabricated materials are usually thicker and
provide a moderate amount of energy efficiency at a
mid level cost. They are often constructed with a
hollow core and filled with a less expensive
material which lowers their lifespan and can reduce
energy efficiency. Wood offers a high life span with
high levels of energy efficiency. They do cost more
and require maintenance and proper care.
Types
Listed are some of the types available:Solid panels
or raised panels can have cutouts, carvings,
moldings, or can even mimic certain time periods.

which ranges from three to four inches.
